If you were enthralled by Alia’s stunning Met Gala ensemble, you should see what other Bollywood celebrities wore that is comparable.

The Met Gala 2024 left a lasting impression as popular stars across the world gathered to commemorate the Metropolis Costume Institute’s latest exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. Among the esteemed attendees was Alia Bhatt, who mesmerised everyone in a floral Sabyasachi couture saree. Her ethereal presence on the red carpet, with a long trailing ensemble, captivated onlookers. If you loved Alia’s breathtaking look at the Met Gala, check out these similar ensembles donned by other Bollywood stars.

Both Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif donned similar floral sarees. Katrina sported a pastel tulle saree reminiscent of her pre-wedding celebrations with Vicky Kaushal in Rajasthan. On the other hand, Deepika attended an award ceremony in a translucent saree adorned with floral applique work, styled by Sabyasachi, showcasing timeless grace and sophistication.

Katrina’s blush pink saree was embellished with semi-precious jewels and crystals, as well as flowers all over. Katrina paired it with a similar full-sleeved blouse, a striking uncut diamond necklace, matching earrings and a veil adorned with floral motifs. The saree was designed by Sabyasachi.

On the other hand, Deepika’s saree had a delicate shimmer embellishment. It featured an embroidered border and an extended train. To complement the saree, she wore a matching blouse with a plunging neckline along with a dangling earring.

Meanwhile, all eyes were on Alia Bhatt at the MET Gala 2024 as she attended the event in a stunning mint green saree with an extravagant 23-foot-long train. The saree was adorned with hand-embroidered silk floss, beads, sequins, semi-precious stones, glass bead fringes and a handcrafted blouse embellished with emeralds, pearls and multi-coloured accents, adding to Alia’s appearance. Designed by the renowned Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the creation required 1965 hours of intricate work and involved approximately 163 artisans to complete.

Speaking about her outfit, the actress told Vogue, “When I thought of the dress code ‘Garden of Time’, I felt it needed something timeless and nothing is more timeless than a sari. It has taken a lot of love, labour and effort,  and anything that takes a lot of love and time lasts forever, just like the garden of time.” This was Alia’s second appearance at the MET Gala.
