Love Island’s Zara McDermott spills the shows secrets – revealing they have caterers
As this season of Love Island heats up, former stars of the show have been dishing the dirt on what really goes on in that famous Mallorca villa.
And former islander Zara McDermott, who appeared on season four of the show, has revealed another secret – admitting that crew come in and out of the villa every day, and contestants usually know when a text is on the way.
As her boyfriend Sam Thompson, 29, took to his Instagram Story to quiz Zara, 25, on the matter, she agreed that ‘Basically there’s just loads of people chilling around’ in the villa – confirming that crew do go into the villa with the islanders.

Turning to his girlfriend, an intrigued Sam asked: ‘I have a question for you, I’ve been thinking about this for a while. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, do you have a chef? You don’t cook all your own meals.’
While Zara replied: ‘No, so you cook your own breakfast but you have caterers for lunch and dinner. They cook the food on site, they bring it into the villa and you serve yourself like a buffet.’
‘So It’s basically just like there’s loads of people chilling around?’ questioned Sam, as his girlfriend agreed: ‘A fair amount of people chilling around while you’re eating yeah’, revealing crew do come in and out of the villa.

The shocked Made In Chelsea star couldn’t believe the revelation, as he exclaimed: ‘Oh my god, you primadonnas as well.’

Sam and Zara have been provising a host of villa secrets via Instagram, as Zara previously revealed that the contestants are pre-warned to have their phone nearby by show bosses if a text is coming in – meaning they usually know when one is coming.
‘They would be like, “Maybe you should all have your phones in your hands,”‘ she explained.
Taking to her own Story, Zara also spilled the beans on who she would couple up with if she went into the villa this season – admitting it would be Luca Bish she’d have her eye on.
Answering a fan’s question of who both she and Sam would pick in the villa, the Love In The Flesh presenter explained: ‘Hmm I think I would go for Luca (only from day 1-3 but not sure on him anymore) and Davide is growing on me.

‘And I think Sam would probably go for Paige or Tasha! I was just thinking about Sam Ekin-Su together and laughing / She’d eat the poor lad alive,’ jested Zara.
The star, who has since appeared on Made In Chelsea, rose to prominence during the 2018 season of Love Island – coupling up with Adam Collard.
Despite staying together outside of the villa, the pair called it quits after eight months – with Zara releasing a statement to Instagram revealing that ‘Sometimes in life, you just aren’t enough for someone’.
But things picked up for the reality star, as she began dating Sam in 2019, and despite a short split in 2020, seem happier than ever in their Chelsea home.
