Y’all know the drill… Another day, another opportunity for Lizzo to teach us a thing or two about serving looks. To kick off the month on October 3, the singer debuted a hairstyle and color that couldn’t possibly be more ’90s: a shoulder-length lob with a deep side part and the ends curled upward. The sandy brown hair color features several distinctive stripes of golden blonde, which are in stark contrast to the chunky metallic hair clips that line the crown of her head.
“Burberry Baby,” Lizzo captioned an Instagram slideshow of the hairstyle, which was achieved by stylist Shelby Swain, and her luminous makeup by Alexx Mayo. As if the hair and makeup together weren’t retro enough, she paired the look with a long, square-tipped manicure featuring Burberry plaid nail art — a perfect match to the Burberry plaid mini dress she wore as well. Like her hair and makeup, the manicure was achieved by yet another member of Lizzo’s right-hand glam squad, nail artist Eri Ishizu.
You know we have to say it: Lizzo’s looking a hell of a lot like a missing character from Clueless right here. The plaid, the designer label, the highlights, the body glitter, the hair clips — truly, the whole thing is giving Cher Horowitz a run for her money.
Somehow, this combination of cut, color, and style isn’t one Lizzo has worn before as far as we can remember. That said, she can definitely check yet another item off her hair bucket list (she’s already mastered bright hues, pixie cuts, bangs, afros, and plenty of Bantu knots, among other styles). Knowing her, she’s probably got another brand-new look in the bucket to debut any minute now, so we’ll be refreshing her Instagram page on the hour, every hour… but what’s new?
