Diana

Lisa Eldridge Diana Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow ($27.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a deep copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a metallic sheen. It had faint sparkle but was one of the less sparkly shades in the original line-up. The texture was smooth, spreadable, and more mousse-like–airy but a little denser and not as “thin” or as a “watery” as some liquid eyeshadows can be, though it certainly felt wet and cool to the touch.

It had opaque pigmentation when applied in a single stroke, but it could be diffused and sheered out to a wash of color, as marketed, with a fingertip or a fluffy brush. For higher coverage, it was easiest to work with by using a separate, flat synthetic brush to pick up and to apply product where desired as this ensured one didn’t over-apply product (as the spreadable consistency encouraged diffusing and blending over a larger area than initially applied). It stayed on well for 10 hours without fading or creasing on me.

Formula Overview

$27.00/0.09 oz. – $300.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have a “creamy and lightweight” texture that has a “lustrous, wet-look finish with a durable shine.” It has sheerer, more medium coverage when quickly blended out with a fingertip or a brush, but it can have full coverage applied with a second layer or applied directly with a brush (e.g. as eyeliner).

The consistency was like a lightweight mousse, not runny, but easily spreadable without becoming patchy–even with the darkest, near-black shade. It dried down completely, though I had enough time to work one eye at a time without feeling like I had to run a blending marathon to do so. It was particularly budge-proof, though, and it was key to apply thin, even layers as building too much product did lead to flaking (like more than two layers).

I found the shades to be more pigmented from the get-go, so it was not necessarily to do a full second layer to achieve full opacity. My recommendation would be to use a flat, synthetic brush to apply the liquid eyeshadow onto the lid/lash line for higher coverage. I also liked giving it a second or two to “dry” slightly before doing so. If you want to use them more as a wash of color (sheer to medium), then applying a pat or two of product from the doe-foot applicator and using a fluffy, synthetic brush or a fingertip to diffuse worked a treat.

I noticed that the finish was smoother, higher-shine, and more metallic in its sheen when worn at higher coverage, while when diffused and really blended out, it was visibly sparkly. It made it more versatile in its finish as a result.

Lauren

Lisa Eldridge Lauren Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow ($27.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a bright, medium copper with warm, orange undertones and lighter, golden copper sparkle throughout. It had full color coverage when applied in a single layer, particularly if one used a flat, synthetic brush to do so or gave the formula a couple of seconds to “dry out” a little before manipulating and spreading out the product. It could be sheered out when applied with a fingertip or a fluffy brush, which was when the finish became more noticeably sparkly (rather than metallic).

The consistency was lightweight, smooth, and more mousse-like, as there was an airy quality and it didn’t run at all. It lasted well for 10 hours without showing signs of wear.

Liza

Lisa Eldridge Liza Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow ($27.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a deep gray with cool undertones and flecks of silver micro-sparkle throughout. The finish was more metallic when worn at higher coverage and more sparkly when sheered out. It had opaque pigmentation when applied in a single stroke, whereas when blended out on the lid using a fingertip, it had sheerer coverage.

It seemed to work as marketed; I liked using the included-applicator for an initial distribution of product for sheerer coverage (so a dab of it), whereas using a brush first was better for getting a thin, even (but opaque) layer of product all-over. The texture felt lightweight, smooth, and spreadable with a mousse-like feel. It wore nicely for 10 hours without fading or creasing on me.
