[unpaid/sample] Sorry, but I don’t think I’ve fallen in love so fast with any other lip product as immediately as I’ve fallen for Lisa Eldridge Baume Embrace Melting Lip Colour. Wow. They’re so instantly at home on the lips that they feel like they’ve always been destined to be there.
There are five shades – I have four here to show you. From left to right: Meet Cute, Epanui, Red Curve and Sweet Fig. The reason they feel so instantly compatible with your lip skin is a blend of butters (shea, murumuru and wild mango kernel) combined with jojoba oil and meadowfoam seed oil (one of my favourite ingredients to find in any product) and hydrogenated coco-glycerides which act as both emollient and thickener to perfect the texture. There’s no drag on application – they literally glide over your lips, leaving a trail of colour that gleams and softens.
This is Meet Cute, a light peachy pink which I would swear should not suit me but somehow does. The balms have a very conditioning aspect – your lips will feel and look better for wearing them, even after you’ve taken them off.
This is Epanui – sweetly named for the French word for finding your true, authentic self in a sort of contented and fulfilled kind of way. It’s a mauve stroked pink that I think will suit cool, warm or neutral tones.
This is Red Curve (sorry I’m looking so sleepy – or drunk – I’m neither, I promise!) which is a warm red. It’s immediately my favourite for its similarity to Rene Pink (for non regular readers, the Gucci lip balm that was my favourite ever balm which they discontinued and I’m having a very difficult time getting over it…). They aren’t twins, that’s for sure, but they’re definitely close cousins.
And finally, Sweet Fig, which is a pinkish brown and another suit-all in my view. I love the buttery gleam that these balms give which hit the absolute sweet spot between balm and gloss. I’m favouring them particularly for mid-lifers or the dry of lip because they instantly smooth out the lip skin (my lips are naturally very lined and pretty much always have been – I look permanently dehydrated even though I’m not) and give them a juicy, lightful plumpness that’s super pretty at every age. They’re £26 each HERE.
