For supermodel Lily Aldridge, the sometimes-complicated category of clean living is all about, as she puts it, “being aware of what ingredients you are putting on and in your body.”
It’s something the 35-year-old mother-of-two believes in so much, that she’s invested in the “clean medicine movement” via Genexa, a brand (they also count Zoey Deutsch, Regina Hall and Katherine Schwarzenegger as supporters) that makes medicine for infants, kids and adults, minus artificial inactive ingredients, chemical fillers and allergens. We recently caught up with Aldridge, who shared more about the movement, her current favorite moisturizer (thank you, Miranda Kerr!) and the fine art of balancing.
Why did you decide to partner with the brand?
I was using Genexa before I invested in the brand. I’ve always tried to look for medicines free of dyes and unnecessary ingredients and then they came along and changed the game in medicine. They still provide ingredients needed without all the extra harmful ingredients. I’m very grateful for that.
Living cleaner can be overwhelming. What is your advice for taking the first—even if it’s a small—step?
That’s exactly what it is. Taking things step-by-step, and also understanding it’s about balance as well. For me things, changed when I started learning about how many chemicals were in our food, beauty products, medicines, etc. I learned more about what I was consuming and how it affects us.
What are some of your unhealthier indulgences?
I have plenty! Like I said, it’s all about balance.
You’ve always been very vocal about your favorite beauty products, skin care, wellness. What is something you recently discovered that you love?
I really love the beauty world and I love to try new things all the time! My new favorite product is KORA Turmeric Glow Moisturizer ($58). It’s so incredible and makes my skin glow.
