EXCLUSIVE: Laura Dundovic revealed to Daily Mail Australia last week how she ‘prioritised’ her mental health in lockdown – and detailed her holistic approach to wellness

Laura said she focused on keeping in touch with her girlfriends while in lockdown, made sure to keep up a routine to give her ‘purpose’ and made sure to exercise to keep on top of her mental health.

‘For me, I think Covid was a very difficult time for everyone and the tough thing was, in some ways it was a shared experience, everyone couldn’t see friends and family,’ Laura began.

‘And yet there was another element, we were all going through things differently… when it first started, it was quite overwhelming and I prioritised my mental health over everything and prioritised what was going to work for me and that was routine.’

‘That’s part of having a purpose every day. It made me feel that I wasn’t wasting the time and I was getting something out of it,’ she explained.

Laura said how she ‘did a lot of walking’ in lockdown and had a steps competition with her girlfriends, and how she would sometimes train with the trainers from Acero gym at a local park within their radius.

Speaking about her approach to health and wellness, Laura said it’s very ‘holistic’.

‘Anything I think that’s not healthy in my life, I try and change it to something sustainable,’ she explained.

‘With food, I don’t want to be like, “I’m not going to eat any junk,” so I make healthy versions of those kind of treats.’

Laura said that while she loves exercise and moving her body, she also listens to it and doesn’t exercise if she’s exhausted.

‘And with fitness, people always ask me for a breakdown of what training I do. I don’t have a set number of times I train per week,’ she said.

‘I listen to my body, if I’m tired and exhausted, I don’t train. If I have a lot of energy and want to train five to six times a week, I do it.’

Laura also said that while she eats healthy, she also prioritises sleep and gets at least eight hours a night as a ‘non-negotiable’.

Laura, who has a degree in psychology, has just been named an ambassador for Beautifully Healthy, which sells everything from beauty products to health foods, vitamins and medicines.

‘It’s a one-stop shop that has a whole heap of my favourite brands and a wide variety of products. I love working with a company that has all areas, like fitness and nutrition,’ Laura said.
