Kelly Ripa: ‘I’m Not Saying You Should Let People Bully You Into Cosmetic Procedures’

From the woman who has “perfected the art of oversharing,” comes a new book and a new, very revealing cover story.

In this week’s People, 51-year-old Kelly Ripa dishes on everything from sex to Botox, Regis and her children—and a whole lot of other things in between.

As for answering questions on cosmetic treatments (she’s already taken fans along of Botox touch-ups and shared that she first started using the popular injectable to curb under-arm sweating), Ripa doesn’t shy away—stressing that the choice is highly personal.

“For me, it was just more of my comfort level. If I worked off camera, I would not wash my hair with regularity or wear makeup but when I started to see things that I didn’t like, I thought, well, the next turtleneck is going to have two eye holes,” she told People. “I’m not saying you should let people bully you into cosmetic procedures. These are my choices for me.”

Also revealed: That she started therapy right before she turned 39 (she asked her mom’s permission first) and that “the spark” is still most definitely there with her husband of 26 years, Mark Consuelos, calling their sex life “the one part of our life that has always been very good. Even when we’re arguing, it’s good.”
