[unpaid/sample] This best-selling candle has been given a luxurious uplift from the ultimate lavish upcycling. The notes of Kartushya will be familiar to everyone – pine, rosemary and smack of cognac – it’s that dark, after-dinner, woody scent that’s like opening an antique box.
Housed in Italian glass with a double wick, these candles last really well. I had mine burning last night and it’s barely made a dent in the wax. The upcycling comes into play with the etching – using precious metal dust of gold, platinum and silver that are waste from hand-made jewellery, a paste using the remnant particles was formed to create the star burst-like design. When the candle burns you get a rim of glowing light that uplift the metals and as it burns down they appear more prominently. I mean.. it’s a journey! If you’re at the point where you want some depth to your evenings and some luxury, it’s for you – it’s pricy at £65 HERE but with a base of amber, patchouli and cedar, it’s an olfactory wrap up that’s warm and evocative. It’s also available in Afreet and Hermitage Noel 1878, the latter being a more Christmassy offering.
