If you’re a fan of IT Cosmetics—who doesn’t love the cult-classic CC Cream?—your request for more skin-care products may have been part of the inspiration behind the brand’s latest launch, which hit the scene today. A collection of four serums ($29 each), each one was developed with insight from leading dermatologists and plastic surgeons, and focuses on a single buzzy ingredient that targets either fine lines, dullness, pores and dark spots.

“We were inspired by consumers!” says the brand. “We learned about what people were missing in their skin-care routine through focus groups, online research studies, visiting them in their homes—we literally sat on bathroom and bedroom floors to go through baskets of products consumers had tried. Over and over we heard that people wanted products that did what they promised. They knew about what ingredients were trendy or efficacious, but some people didn’t know how to use them, which step or were afraid to use because of potential side effects due to high levels of actives. We also saw many brands calling out ingredients at levels that were misleading—sometimes it’s not about how high the percentage is, but rather what type of vitamin, how it’s contained or suspended, and the delivery system that gives the best results.”

Adding to the “Bye Bye” portfolio, the quartet includes Bye Bye Lines Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Bye Bye Dullness Vitamin C Serum, Bye Bye Pores Glycolic Acid Serum and Bye Bye Dark Spots Niacinamide Serum, which can either be used all over or in targeted areas of the face. “We also heard that people have many different preconceived skin concerns at any given moment,” says. “Today, all I can see are my large pores but my skin also looks dry—is there a way to treat both? My skin looks dull and I also have dark spots from sun damage—what should I use?” Two of the formulas—Bye Bye Pores and Bye Bye Dullness—are also vegan, which is a first for IT Cosmetics.

Though it would be convenient to combine all four in your hand and apply them together, the brand says that due to the strength of the glycolic acid in Bye Bye Pores, “we recommend making sure that you only use this at the same time as Bye Bye Lines (hyaluronic acid) for no irritation. Bye Bye Lines is that great product you could add to any routine for that glassy skin/glazed donut effect! Other than Bye Bye Pores, you are free to mix and match however you need. Another way to do it is one in the morning and one at night—a perfect way to treat multiple issues!”

IT Cosmetics advisory board member West Islip, NY dermatologist Kavita Mariwalla, MD says, “Lines can be caused by dehydration of the skin and a loss of volume. Our concentrated serum with hyaluronic acid helps plump and smooth the feel of skin while hydrating it. Plus, it’s peptide- and vitamin B5-infused to improve skin bounce back and softness.” In clinical trials, the brand reported users saw a 60-percent reduction in fine line appearance in just six weeks.

If large pores are the concern, the glycolic acid serum is your best bet. “Pores become more visible when they’re clogged and enlarged,” says IT Cosmetics advisory board member and New York plastic surgeon Dara Liotta, MD. “This serum contains 10-percent glycolic acid to help exfoliate and refine skin’s texture, and also has hyaluronic acid to help skin look more hydrated,” According to the brand, you can see “pretty dramatic results in just one week.”

Suitable for even the most sensitive skin, Bye Bye Dark Spots combines 4 percent niacinamide with 1 percent ethyl vitamin C to even out skin tone and help minimize the appearance of age spots, melasma, sun damage and acne scars. And Bye Bye Dullness includes 15 percent pure vitamin C to boost skin’s radiance while also protecting it from free-radical damage. “It also contains vitamin E and helps nourish skin with hydration,” adds Dr. Mariwalla. In clinical trials conducted by the brand, users saw an 87-percent improvement in skin tone and an 81-percent reduction in the appearance of dark spots in 12 weeks.
