Is Skims Really the Best for Larger Chests? I Put Their Scoop Bralette to the Test

One reason I usually steer clear of wireless bras is that the bands tend to ride way up in the back, usually as a result of how short I have to make the straps to get any kind of lift. Surprisingly, this one shapes my natural chest without pushing everything up to my chin, while the band stays straight. It also minimizes slightly without creating the dreaded “uni-boob,” which is the silhouette I usually strive for. As I checked myself out in the mirror, my jaw literally dropped—that kind of instant confidence boost can be hard to come by.

I felt hopeful, but there’s no telling how a bra really fits until you’ve worn it all day long. Post-test, I’m happy to report that this one holds up, even after long, 12-hour days. Supportive, but not too compressive, it keeps my chest in place and pain-free when I scale all four flights of stairs up to my apartment at the end of each day. In a rare first for me, I’ve actually almost gone to bed without realizing I still had it on more than once.

The straps are long, easy to adjust, and never slip or fall off of my shoulders. The band doesn’t leave red marks or create lines underneath my shirts, although I wish it had a clasp or closure so I don’t always have to pull the bralette on over my head. I also wish it was adjustable, so I can keep wearing it even after it inevitably starts to stretch out (no sign of that yet, though). Otherwise, when it comes to fit, I think the Scoop Bralette is tough to beat.

The price

When I first tried this bra on, I was so surprised by how well it fit that I was afraid to check the price tag. I’ve dropped over $100 on underwire styles and over $50 on wireless bras before, so I’m no stranger to lingerie sticker shock. At $34 each, three of these immediately came home with me and replaced half of my drawer.

Compared to other Skims offerings, this is one of the easiest on your wallet. (Most of the brand’s bras are priced between $45 and $70.) My take? It’s a total steal, and the cost makes replacing your worn-out go-tos easy.

Bottom line

Supportive, comfortable, and flattering: Skims Fits Everybody Scoop Bralette puts all of my old wireless bras to shame. (Kimberly really did it with this one!) I love how it lifts and shapes my chest while remaining undetectable—getting dressed is so much easier, now that I’m not trying to squash or flatten myself. I did keep one underwire bra that I prefer to wear with some plunging necklines and one-shouldered tops. But since Skims offers so many silhouettes to choose from, I could easily see myself branching out in the Fits Everybody family soon.
