TINNITUS is the perception of noises in the head and ear which have no external source. Those living with the condition may have to endure a ringing, buzzing, hissing, whistling or other noise which is either constant or intermittent. One person who has spoken publicly about living with the condition is Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who described himself as “f***ing deaf”.
