Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Waterproof

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] There’s never a time when I’m not happy to see a new mascara (it’s when I test them things get tricky – yes, I’m looking at you, Benefit!) so the new Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl in a waterproof version is very welcome. Dior’s Pump N Volume mascara is one of my all-time favourites – it arrived at a time when most mascaras had upped their game but that one went a step further and really is a wow product.

The formula is great – cotton nectar (yes, it really is a thing) and Abyssinian oil keeps lashes soft and conditioned  – and can be comfortably layered for big lashes or used as one coat for day to day.

The Overcurl brush is curved so that it fits nicely under the lash line for a pull-through that gives an even coating. I always have a spoolie brush on hand to brush through if there isn’t enough definition for my taste and I used it after applying Overcurl. The thing I learned from that is that the Overcurl formula dries very quickly – I suppose to ‘set’ the lashes – so if you do use a spoolie brush, do it quickly. The lift effect is good, and it stays.

If you like even bigger (i.e. massive) lashes, the Volumiser works a treat – it was too much for me (I looked shocked!) but I can’t deny that it works in exactly the way it’s supposed to.

Bottom line is that Overcurl, waterproof or not, is a BIG lash mascara – if you don’t want a full and dramatic lash line it isn’t for you but if you do, my impression is that the waterproof version has even more oomph. I haven’t put it to the full ‘waterproof’ test although I’m going out-out this evening (in my big coat) and rain is due so it may well be put properly through its paces – I hope not, to be fair.
