Pop a Cork

ColourPop Pop a Cork Lux Gloss ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a very pale, yellowy-gold tinted gloss base with flecks of iridescent sparkle throughout. It had just a smattering of shimmer/sparkle, so it yielded a lot of high-shine and some twinkle but wasn’t as impactful as other shimmery glosses might be (which may be just what you’re looking for!).

The gloss had a smooth, non-sticky texture that was on the thicker side, but I didn’t find it heavy to wear. It stayed on nicely for two and a half hours but was very moisturizing to wear.

Formula Overview

$8.00/0.16 oz. – $50.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have “shine” with a “cushiony soft” texture that “hydrates lips.” The brand isn’t clear on how pigmented or how sheer the formula is intended to be; they instead they have the “perfect amount of colour all in one.” Based on what I can infer from promotional images, their marketing, and typical lip gloss claims (in the industry), gloss is typically sheerer coverage rather than opaque, so based on that, I will be rating on the expectation of medium coverage.

The formula has a smooth consistency that was more like a gel-cream, as it felt denser (“cushiony”) without being heavy or tacky. I didn’t feel like they were the most forgiving, though, as most shades settled into my lip lines to a small degree. The coverage was sheer to semi-sheer, which resulted in the shades looking more similar on than they looked in the tubes (the initial line-up could have been much more diverse as a result). They lasted between two and three hours and were moisturizing to wear.

There was no discernible taste, and they had a sweet, sugary scent.

Fizzy with It

ColourPop Fizzy with It Lux Gloss ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a light, peachy-gold tinted base with fine flecks of gold sparkle throughout. It had a smooth consistency that was thicker, non-sticky, and plush without being heavy to wear. It had sheer color payoff, which seemed less than marketed, that applied evenly and didn’t settle into my lip lines. It wore well for two and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

Sippy Sippy

ColourPop Sippy Sippy Lux Gloss ($8.00 for 0.16 oz.) has a subtly, copper-tinted base with flecks of gold and copper sparkle throughout paired with a high-shine, glossy finish. The texture was smooth, moderately thick but not tacky or heavy to wear, so it felt plusher on. It had sheer to semi-sheer coverage, as marketed, that lasted well for three hours and was moisturizing to wear.
