Busy Philipps looked stunning at tonight’s CMT Music Awards celebrating the best in country music this year, and her mint green eyeshadow has caught our attention—the whole look gave us major I Dream of Jeannie vibes in the best way. Funny enough, according to the A-lister’s Instagram post, she actually didn’t wear this look tonight, but rather last week, when she got all glammed up to record her introduction for a performance by Miranda Lambert ahead of time because she couldn’t be there live due to COVID-19. “I’ll be watching tonight from home like everyone else! Which is weirdly kind of the best of both worlds?” the actress captioned her photo.
Celebrity makeup artist Gita Bass is responsible for Philipps’ gorgeous makeup, and appears to have gotten her inspiration for the mint green eyeshadow from stylist Karla Welch’s pick of a mint green two-piece Georges Hobeika ensemble. “Thanks @karlawelchstylist for making my mint green fantasy come true,” Bass wrote on Instagram.
Pastel green on the lids is a big trend for summer and a fun, refreshing break from the neutrals we saw this spring. To get the look at home, try ColourPop’s Mint to Be Shadow Palette ($14), which contains nine shades of green to fully embrace the trend, or go full-on mint with MAC’s solo Eye Shadow in Mint Condition ($18). And finally, if you want to take a subtler approach, apply e.l.f.’s new Mint Melt No Budge Eyeshadow Stick ($5) along your lash line.
