BITE Beauty Whipped Blush | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I hadn’t realised I don’t think that Bite Beauty was bought by Kendo (Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Ole Henriksen) in 2014. Or, I’d forgotten…but sitting in the same stable as Fenty can only be a good thing for this Canadian founded brand. I think it’s been in the UK before – I remember it was very covetable at one point made all the more so by launch of the Bite Beauty Bar in NYC where you can custom blend your own lipsticks. I’ve had a couple of requests for reviews of the lipsticks but in fact, I decided I’d rather review the new Daycation blushes as the new lipsticks are all matte.

They’re not like any blush I’ve seen before I have to admit and I love the look of them, as I do the colours which are a bit different to all the usual creme blush offerings. They’re very tactile being smooth as pebbles – once the lid is off you realise that it’s a squeezy affair.

There are four shades of Daycation – Coconut Rum, Melon Mojito. Watermelon Marg and Hibiscus Slush. There’s a slightly fresh feel when you apply to your cheeks which is nice although I’d go against the advice to add a dab to fingertips and apply from there in favour of applying to the palm of your hand and picking up with a blush. These diffuse very, very well but personally, I think it looks better, diffuses better and gives more of a natural flush if you use a brush to do it.

BITE Beauty Whipped Blush is highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. Start with a tiny amount and build up although you will probably find the first application plenty. I like the formula (boosted with papaya extracts), especially as you can use it on lids if you feel like it. There’s no oily feel – if anything, it feels a bit moussy and whippy on application. I feel that it’s quite pricy at £30 but perhaps because it’s so intensely pigmented, stayed well on my cheeks and can be used on eyes, it’s worth the spend.

The most natural shade on me is Watermelon Marg in a muted pink – not the bubblegum shade I was expecting. From the bottom to the top it’s Hibiscus Slush, Watermelon Marg, Melon Mojito and Coconut Rum which has shimmer to it. In fact, they’re all light hit but Coconut seems the most ‘glowy’. I think if I’d seen these at the beginning of the summer rather than the tail end I’d be recommending harder but there’s always next year!
