Bid to improve healthcare for millions with the menopause and to end the taboo

MPs and clinicians will discuss how women can be helped with measures such as boosting access to treatments.

The cross-party group also aims to end taboos about the condition.

Labour MP and co-chair Carolyn Harris said: “Improving support and services for those experiencing symptoms of the menopause is something that I am passionate about.

“Insufficient education and awareness of its impact alongside historic taboos around openly discussing its symptoms has meant that for too long women have suffered and struggled to access help.”

This comes as the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency launched a consultation on offering the hormone replacement therapy Gina 10 without requiring a prescription.
