Eve Kalinik is a gut health specialist and author of Happy Gut, Happy Mind: How to Feel Good From Within. She suggests eating flaxseed to ease constipation woes.

Eve focuses on using food to support your physical and mental health.

Her own gut suffered when she started eating poorly during the early years of her career, skipping meals and trying fad diets.

When her poor gut health began to negatively impact her life, Eve changed her ways and was inspired to become a nutritional therapist.

She spoke with Express.co.uk about ways to ease constipation, including foods that can help movement.

She recommended a home remedy anyone can add to their breakfast she claims will help with constipation.

“Taking time over how we pass a bowel movement is important, so avoid rushing and also think about positioning,” she said.

“Leaning slightly forward and using a small stool or book under the feet can help with achieving a better posture primed for an easier and smoother movement.”
