Those with a vitamin B12 deficiency may suffer from headaches, pale skin, and breathlessness.

There are a whole host of warning signs to be aware of, including:

  • A pale yellow tinge to your skin
  • A sore and red tongue (glossitis)
  • Mouth ulcers
  • Pins and needles (paraesthesia)
  • Changes in the way that you walk and move around
  • Disturbed vision
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Changes in the way you think, feel and behave

A decline in your mental abilities, such as memory, understanding and judgement (dementia).

Further symptoms include reduced sense of taste, muscle weakness and diarrhoea.
