[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve never met a Chanel mascara I didn’t like but if I’m honest, I’ve found myself reaching for others before them. I think now though, the brand has absolutely nailed the perfect mascara – it’s jet, jet black with a hint of red that you’ll only spot during application and not at the finished result.
It’s my mascara brush of dreams – the right size with spikes instead of bristles so you get the perfect comb though. I wore it all of yesterday and Wednesday and there was no smudging, no flaking and it was exactly at the end of the day as it was when I applied it. CHANEL Noir Allure Mascara is designed to give volume, curl, length and definition – I’d say it did a grand job of all except curling but that is a really tricky thing for mascara to do and much of that is down to application method (sweep up, hold, reapply) and I just applied it as I would any mascara.
Bear in mind my lashes are a bit more super than usual because of the lash growth serum I’ve been using but I am happy with the colour, length and definition – that’s from two coats. I’ve been having the debate with Julia from Mrs Gloss about whether to coat bottom lashes or not – I always give them a light coat, she never does. What about you? I can’t imagine not giving them just a whisper of colour.
The mascara is designed in the same smooth clicky-lid tube (but bigger, obviously) as Chanel lipsticks – one click and the brush glides up. As you might imagine, it’s a luxury price – £37 – for the swishy extras. I was going to suggest you use Boots to buy but a) it’s £1 more than everywhere else and b) it’s not in stock on line in any case. So you can find it HERE instead.
